How to make WhatsApp video calls on a desktop

Many people spend most time on their computer and would rather use their computer to chat on WhatsApp. Also, if you are using your computer to chat on WhatsApp, you’ll want to make video calls as well directly from it.

Today, we are going to be telling you How to make WhatsApp video calls on a desktop. So, if you usually use the WhatsApp video calls feature, this guide is for you.

WhatsApp for Android and iOS gives you the possibility to make video calls but what about on the Desktop? We all know there is no standalone WhatsApp for desktop that doesn’t require you to sync with your Android.

Still, as of March 2021, WhatsApp Desktop started having support for video calls. So, you can use the PC version for this.

2 Methos you can use to make WhatsApp video calls on a desktop

We earlier said the desktop version of WhatsApp now has support for video calls. But the issue is you will need to have an Android to sync with it.

Note: You cannot use the web version of WhatsApp on the desktop for video calls

Method 1: Using an Android emulator

A good way to use WhatsApp on your computer is via an Android emulator. With the emulator, even someone with an Android or iPhone can install WhatsApp and use it on their computer.

Via the Eulator, you can then make WhatsApp video calls on a desktop.

Some of the best Android emulators for Windows computer include BlueStacks, Nox, etc. As for ac users, BlueStacks is a good choice to go for.

Method 2: Via the WhatsApp Desktop

As we earlier said, WhatsApp Desktop Software now has support for video calls. All you have to do is download it from here.

After installing, you will then have to sync with your Android or iPhone. Proceed thus:

  • Make sure you are connected on Both Mobile and PC
  • Launch WhatsApp Desktop and you will see a QR Code to scan
  • Now, launch WhatsApp on your phone and tap on the “three dots” at the top-right corner.
  • From the menu choose “WhatsApp Web” and then “Link a Device”
  • Scan the QR code on the WhatsApp Desktop
  • Once the connection is sucessful, you can now use WhatsApp desktop and make video calls.
