Microsoft OneDrive

« Back to Glossary Index

Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based file hosting and synchronization service provided by Microsoft. It allows users to store files and personal data like photos, videos, and documents on Microsoft servers and access them from anywhere using a web browser or mobile app.

This cloud storage service also provides integration with Microsoft Office applications, enabling users to collaborate on documents with others in real-time. Additionally, it offers several advanced features, including version control, selective syncing, and ransomware protection.

Users can access this service using their Microsoft account or any other email address. The service comes with a limited amount of free storage, and additional storage can be purchased through various subscription plans. OneDrive is available for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms.

Subscription

How much does OneDrive cost per month?

There’s only one OneDrive subscription option, with 100GB for just $1.99 per month, although this doesn’t come with access to Office apps. To get more storage than that, you have to get a Microsoft 365 plan. OneDrive cloud storage offers excellent value through Microsoft 365, though its storage caps out at just 1TB
