iPhone 15 Pro Max Rumored to Feature New Periscope Telephoto Camera, 3nm A17 Bionic Chip, and USB Type-C Port

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be a major upgrade over the iPhone 14 Pro Max, with a new periscope telephoto camera, a 3nm A17 Bionic chip, and a USB Type-C port.

The periscope telephoto camera which will allegedly be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and not the regular Pro is rumoured to offer 6x optical magnification, which would be a significant improvement over the 3x optical magnification on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The periscope telephoto camera works by reflecting light through a prism, which allows it to zoom in without sacrificing image quality.

As for the main camera, initially, there were indications that this iDevice would probably utilize the Sony IMX903, a 1-inch sensor. However, according to the most recent information from an industry insider, the iPhone 15 will continue to feature the same IMX803, a 48-megapixel 1/1.28″ Quad-Bayer camera that is already present in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

The 3nm A17 Bionic chip is expected to be a significant performance improvement over the A16 Bionic chip in the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The 3nm process technology will allow the A17 Bionic chip to be more efficient and powerful, which will lead to better battery life and faster performance.

The USB Type-C port is a welcome addition to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The USB Type-C port is more versatile than the Lightning port, and it will allow users to connect their iPhones to a wider range of accessories.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be released in the fall of 2024. The price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max has not been announced, but it is expected to be similar to the price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
