During the Google IO 2023 event, new devices were showcased including the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and the “affordable” Pixel 7a. However, the event did not solely focus on new devices as Google also rolled out the Android 14 Beta 2 at the end of the keynote.
What’s exciting about Android 14 Beta 1 is that it is no longer exclusive to Google Pixel devices. Instead, a variety of devices from brands such as Xiaomi, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Tecno, Lenovo, and Vivo can now preview the new version of Android. 10 devices are now compatible with the new Android 14 Beta version.
Although OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Nothing were quick to announce support for Android 14 Beta 1, official announcements from Samsung, Nokia, and Asus are still pending. Samsung is reportedly internally testing the One UI 6.0 based on the new Android version and the stable version may roll out soon.
For those wondering which phones currently have support for Android 14 Beta 1, here is the list:
- OnePlus 11
- Nothing Phone (1)
- Lenovo Tab Extreme
- Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro, and 12T
- Vivo X90 Pro
- Realme GT 2 Pro
- Oppo Find N2 Flip
- Tecno Camon 20
Android 14 is said to bring minor visual changes but mainly focuses on under-the-hood improvements to enhance the user experience. The stable version of Android 14 should be released to all supported Pixel devices by October and other OEMs are expected to roll out the update swiftly afterwards.
