Subscription Creators: Twitter users will be able to monetize their content!

Twitter has announced a fresh approach to monetizing content for its users through a novel feature called Subscription Creators . This feature enables users to create a paid subscription to their page, where the user can determine the cost of the subscription. Upon subscribing to the page, a substantial part of the subscription cost will be credited to the user’s account.

Twitter has released a comprehensive breakdown explaining how their Subscription creators feature functions. Initially, when the total amount of transfers is under $50,000, users will receive 97% of the subscription amount, while Twitter will take a 3% commission. However, once the total amount of transfers surpasses $50,000, Twitter’s commission increases to 20%, leaving the user with only 80% of the subscription amount. It is worth noting that for in-app purchases, Apple charges a commission of 30%. This means that if a subscription is bought through an Apple device, the total commission will be 33% and 50% for Twitter and Apple, respectively.

Subscription creators must reach a minimum payout threshold of $50. This feature is currently available in 115 countries, excluding Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. However, Trinidad and Tobago, Gabon, and the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) are among the participating countries.

The Subscriptions Creators feature has already been endorsed by prominent Twitter users like Elon Musk, who urged content creators to enable subscriptions for their photos, texts, and videos globally on the platform.

This new feature has the potential to revolutionize how content creators earn money by allowing them to set their subscription fees and receive a significant portion of the subscription amount. They can now monetize their content directly on Twitter. However, it is yet to be seen how successful the feature will be in the countries where it is currently available and whether Twitter will expand it to other countries in the future.
