Although backing up your WhatsApp chat to iCloud can be beneficial in case of losing or resetting your iPhone, the new feature can prove to be helpful in situations where users do not have the necessary bandwidth to download their chats on mobile. Furthermore, it can also be advantageous for those who have exceeded the free 5GB iCloud storage limit and do not wish to pay for an additional subscription.
The ‘Transfer Chats to iPhone’ feature can be accessed within the ‘Chats’ section of the WhatsApp settings. To utilize this feature, users simply need to download WhatsApp on their new iPhone, register with the same phone number, and scan the QR code displayed on the new device using their old phone.
