Xiaomi release the Xiaomi Mi Band 5
Xiaomi today launched the Mi Band 5 and it comes with a 1.2″ OLED display. The new budget fitness band which is a direct successor to the Mi Band 4 uses magnetic charging.
Also, the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 comes with a catchy design as well as other interesting new features making you won’t find on previous Mi Bands.
And as we earlier said, the display is OLED(1.2″ OLED) and if you are to compare with the MI Band 4, it is 20% larger.
Also, it comes with support for a plethora of official and third-party watchfaces. And as for the Magnetic Charging, the Mi Band 5 has two electrodes which stick out of the bottom part of the Mi Band 5 to which the charging dock automatically hooks.
Furthermore, it comes with an improved processor for faster and more accurate tracking and has 11 fitness tracking modes with the option for females to use for tracking their menstrual cycle.
Availability of the Xiaomi Mi Band 5
The new Mi Band 5 was launched today in China. But it will be available for sale as from the 18th of June 2020. It will come in 2 different variants.
As it stands, no announcement concerning the launch of this new Budget fitness band outside China has been made.

The tow different variants of the Mi Band 5 are;
- An NFC variant – It will cost 229 yuan ($32)
- A non-NFC variant which will cost 189 yuan ($27)
