Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series received a major camera-improving update in Asian countries last week, and now the update is rolling out in Europe for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. This update, which carries the firmware version S91xBXXU2AWF1 and weighs 2.2GB, brings significant enhancements to the device’s camera capabilities. To avoid incurring additional mobile data charges from your carrier, it is advisable to download the update over a Wi-Fi connection.
One of the notable improvements included in the June 2024 update is an upgrade to the Android security patch level, bringing it up to June 2024 for the Galaxy S23 trio. However, the primary focus of this update is on addressing camera-related issues. The update addresses autofocus problems, enhances Night Mode processing, and introduces a new 2x zoom option in the Portrait Mode within the default camera app.
In addition to camera enhancements, the June update introduces smoother One UI transition animations and improvements to the haptic feedback system. Furthermore, it aims to resolve the HDR issues faced by the default Camera app in specific lighting conditions, providing users with a more seamless and optimized photography experience.

If you reside in Europe and have yet to receive the update on your Galaxy S23 smartphone, you can manually check for it by accessing the phone’s Settings menu and navigating to the Software update section.
While the update has begun rolling out in Europe, it is important to note that more regions are expected to receive the update in the coming weeks. Notably, China and South Korea are anticipated to receive a distinct version of the AWF1 firmware, featuring additional optimizations, according to tipster Ice Universe.
With these improvements and fixes, Samsung is actively working to enhance the camera capabilities of its Galaxy S23 series, ensuring a more refined user experience.
