POCO unveils new Poco F5 series smartphones with impressive features

POCO, a popular smartphone brand, recently announced the launch of two new smartphones, the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro, ahead of the official launch. The company unveiled the F5 series, which includes two devices, with the F5 Pro 5G set to go global in Europe and the F5 5G to be available in India.



The POCO F5 5G offers two storage options: the 8GB RAM version priced at Rs 29,999 ($365) and the 12GB RAM version priced at Rs 33,999 ($414). The phone is available in three colour options: Electric Blue, Snowstorm White, and Carbon Black. Customers in India who buy the F5 5G will also receive an additional year of warranty coverage.

During the launch period, customers can avail of discounts, with the 8GB RAM version available for Rs 26,999 ($329) and the 12GB RAM version for Rs 30,999 ($378). Customers can also receive an additional Rs 1,000 ($12) off the F5 5G by trading in their existing POCO smartphone via Flipkart .

The POCO F5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor with a 4nm manufacturing process. It also features a 5000mAh battery that supports 67W rapid charging, a triple camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary camera that supports optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The phone sports a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies, a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone port.

On the other hand, the POCO F5 Pro has storage options of 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB, with the basic 8GB RAM model priced at $449, the 12GB RAM + 256GB variant priced at $499, and the 12GB + 512GB model priced at $549. The phone is available in Black and White colourways, with discounts available during the early-bird promotion period. The 8GB RAM model is available for $429, while the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at $449 and the 12GB + 512GB model at $499. The POCO F5 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and features a 6.67-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a 2K resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, a 480Hz touch sampling rate, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone also has a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 for additional protection against accidental drops and nicks. The rear camera setup includes a 2-megapixel macro sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor. The phone also features a 16MP front camera and a 5160mAh battery that supports 67W wired and 30W wireless charging capabilities, making it the first POCO phone to support wireless charging.

Both devices run MIUI 14, which is based on the latest Android 13 operating system.
